In 1924 Manne Siegbahn was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, uncommon for a Swede and even more uncommonly he was also in one of the few father and son pairings to win the Physics Nobel Prize.  His award was for his contributions to X-ray Spectroscopy and in the previous year he had produced an account of this field in German.  This is an original edition of the 1925 translation of his German book by George A. Lindsay.
